Azadeh Tajpour

My work explores the shifting border between "us" and "other" and the helplessness and the submissiveness on either side. Employing images derived from the web, mywork reflects a sense of connection and presence as well as detachment and inaccessibility. They examine the layers of mediation through which we experience international events and the way digital space alters physical distance. In my recent works, I use paintings to act as a permanent pause and replay, as the viewer experiences individual frames simultaneously.
