Azadeh Tajpour is a multidisciplinary artist, archivist, and independent researcher, born and raised in Tehran, and based in Boston. She holds an M.F.A. from Claremont Graduate University and is a recipient of numerous awards, including the Mass Cultural Council’s Cultural Sector Grants and Artists Fellowship, and the Artist Resource Trust (A.R.T) Fund award from Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation, and artist residencies at The Studios at Mass MoCA, Virginia Center for the Arts, Boston Center for the Arts, Art Omi, and more. She has exhibited in Boston, Los Angeles, Mexico, and the United Kingdom among other places. She was the co-curator of Gender Politics in Iran and the Last Forty Years: Eleven Stories on Frontiers: A Journal of Women Studies, in 2020 which included art, creative writings, and essays. Her documentary, Gazing through a Lens—ʿAli Khan Documents 19th-Century Iran, was screened at the Harvard Art Museums, Aga Khan Documentation Center at MIT, and Boston College.
